Driver Biography
Derek's first involvement with circuit racing at Barbagallo Raceway
was in 1999-2000, and most of his early racing was in Historic cars .
2004-2006 he raced in Historic Racing and Sports Car category where his
best result was in 2006 Winning the Historic Racing & Sports Car State
Championship. Prior to this Derek had previously raced Motocross,
Speedway and Drag Racing both Cars and Motorcycles and recording a
respectable time in Street Bike Class of 9.975sec @ Ravenswood
International Raceway.
2007 saw the debut season in Street Cars for both Derek and his Mazda
Series 1 known as "Jack", it was a season that saw some early teething
problems and a couple of engine bay fires that didn't help the cause.
Derek finished 4th Outright for the 2007 season in Street Cars, and in 2009
he finished 2nd in the State Championship. |
